C-TPAT is, however, one layer in U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) multi-layered cargo enforcement methodology. Through this program, CBP works with the trade group to fortify worldwide supply chains and to enhance United States border security.
What is C TPAT
C-TPAT is a voluntary public-private segment association program which perceives that CBP can give the most elevated amount of cargo security just through close collaboration with the guideline partners of the international supply chain, for example, importers, transporters, consolidators, authorized traditions specialists, and producers. The Security and Accountability for Every Port Act of 2006 gave a statutory system to the C-TPAT program and forced strict program oversight prerequisites.
